Paris — A major defendant in the 2015 Paris terrorist attacks said Wednesday that a network of Islamic State attacks on the city was attacking France, with 130 dead “not personal.”

Sarah Abdeslam, wearing all black and refusing to remove the black mask, said last of the 14 defendants in a custom court.

On November 13, 2015, in several places around Paris, nine Islamic group shooters and suicide bombers began at the National Soccer Stadium, ended bloody in the Bataclan Concert Hall, and numbered each other. Attacked within minutes. France has been the deadliest violence since World War II and one of the worst terrorist attacks on the west.

Abdeslam was the only survivor of the cell, most of whom were French or Belgian. He fled the city after abandoning his dysfunctional suicide vest. The two men he called to drive from Brussels to Paris overnight to pick him up are one of the 20 men on trial. Six people are in absentia.
