KOIN, Oregon — On Friday morning, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office was called twice in 45 minutes to report a shooting in the Wood Village area.

Congressmen received the first report around 3:30 am and found no evidence of the shooting. Almost an hour later, there was another phone call reporting that a nearby house had been hit by ammunition. Police responded and confirmed that the inhabitants were not injured, officials said.

As authorities searched the area, they found the front door of the house on Birch Avenue open. They entered the house after hearing no reaction when they asked someone in the house to come out. Upon entering the legislator, one person was found, who reported that some firearms had been stolen.

No one has been arrested for either crime, and there is no explanation for the suspect currently available, officials said.

The agent asked residents of the Wood Village area to watch security video footage of suspicious activity that occurred at night. If you have any information or video, please contact MCSO Tip Line (503.988.0560).
