Portland, Oregon (KOIN) —Police shot and killed armed suspects who led them in a car chase early Sunday morning in Vancouver, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office said.

According to CCSO, the agent tried to pull a car connected to a person who wanted to be assaulted at around 2:22 am, but the suspect led them to chase.

Police stopped the suspect’s car and performed a pit operation near the corner of 122nd and 49th northeastern streets.

The suspect got out of the car, armed with a pistol, and “did not obey lawmakers,” police said. He was subsequently shot by police and died on the scene, CCSO said.

Authorities are investigating and lawmakers involved in the shooting were put on vacation for a serious incident.

The CCSO did not immediately disclose the suspect’s identity or additional information regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

KOIN 6 has contacted CCSO but has not received a response.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more details become available.
