AFP reportedly complained with a red tape that it was blocking the construction of a new giga factory in the suburbs of Berlin, the capital of Germany, and presented German authorities with its own reform proposal. “Tesla directly experienced how obstacles in Germany’s licensing process slowed industrial transformation,” the company wrote in a letter to the Supreme Administrative Court in Berlin as seen by AFP. “If we don’t address these obstacles quickly, there is a high risk that Germany will fail to meet its climate goals,” the company said. Electric car makers are supporting a lawsuit against the German government filed by the environmental group DUH, AFP said. Tesla said Germany needs to be “modernized” to reach its goal of reducing emissions to 55% of 1990 levels by 2030. Tesla aims to produce 500,000 electric vehicles annually at its German plant. 1.
