Companies using outdoor dining can apply for relief of up to $ 10,000 through the Downtown Long Beach Alliance’s Outdoor Dining Redemption Program, which begins at midnight on Monday.
Restaurants, bars, breweries, distilleries and wineries that have invested in or plan to invest in Parklet or other outdoor dining areas are eligible to raise funds on a first-come, first-served basis until they run out of $ 250,000. This funding is part of the city’s CARES law grants from states and counties.
In a statement, DLBA President and CEO Kraig Kojian said, “It is clear that the hospitality industry is declining and we want to provide relief and help rebuild that sector of the economy.” It states.
The program will provide 100% matching funds of up to $ 10,000 to reimburse eligible costs incurred between December 29, 2020 and June 30, 2021. Eligible costs include cladding, barriers, deck installation or improvement, furniture, lighting, heaters and personal protective equipment. , Sanitary equipment, signboards, sunshade sails, canopies.
To apply, the company must be within the boundaries of DLBA, have a valid business permit, be approved by the city to do business outdoors, and operate in accordance with the city’s health order. Prior to final approval, the company must also provide a receipt for expenses or other documents.
Once approved, the company must submit a W9 form.
“This is just the beginning of what DLBA and other like-minded organizations can do to provide the resources they need to revive local businesses,” says Kojian.
