My condition is colloquially known as “CBA” among my generation. In my case it is chronic. I don’t like going for a run. I can’t have a hard time cooking. You cannot reply to emails.
I’m not alone. According to a December 2020 survey by the Pew Research Center Forty-two percent of people in the United States between the ages of 18 and 49 say they have been struggling to find a motivation to work since the covid-19 pandemic began.Still, half of the population who gets up and rides in good spirits remains. Then there are people who get up at 6am and run 10 kilometers before work. A person who writes memoirs. The person who washes the curtain.
What is their secret? Why do some people drive so much and others like me? And is it possible for me to be a go getter? To find out, I gathered motivations to ask some of the scientists I might know.
