Do you hate shopping for swimwear? These tips simplify your search

Each summer From crochet bikinis with matching wrap skirts to small triangular tops with high contrast trim, it brings a new swim trend. However, many of those flashy fads dry quickly. Twelve months later, an Instagram-capable suit once suffers behind a dresser drawer.

Instead of buying a fleeting style this summer, why not look for a more timeless suit that has at least the chance to wear happiness when summer comes? Face more questions than the number of likes that a suit creates. Do you honestly prefer the classic Maillot to the bikini? Are you worried about avoiding tanning lines with straps? Would you like to swim daily or sunbathe in a lounge chair while enjoying a second daiquiri? Take clues from these four stylish women. Below, they share swimwear essentials and the signature suits they rely on each year.

Go-To: Lucia Top, $ 125, Luchia Bottoms, $ 135, lemlem.com

Endurance: Of the many ways we wear and decorate, swimwear makes me feel the most vulnerable. It invites all these questions about the body and presentation. I love the high waist bottom and the triangle bikini top. The combination reflects the swimwear of the 1950s and 1960s. With a silhouette that suits you, you can feel confident in your body.

Checklist: First, how the suit is made-thoughtful in terms of production and ethical considerations. Second, the person behind the brand. And third, how and by whom the brand is represented.

Go-To: Side stroke dress, $ 95, summersalt.com

Endurance: The one-shoulder style is modern, not too fashionable and a little cool. The straight design, that is, the way the suit has a line that crosses the body diagonally, is very flattering. I like that my back is still covered. I don’t want to wear a suit and think about the rest of the day. I want to focus on swimming, pouring drinks, and chasing dogs rather than if my wardrobe is out of order.

Checklist: I want a size 14-16 with a thick back strap that can be supported where traditional bras and underwear support.

Go-To: Mesh high neck dress, $ 92, smilesuitsforall.com

Endurance: This suit feels very old-fashioned. I love the high neckline. I think it’s great if you want to keep it covered, and it’s very chic. And who doesn’t love pure moments? Very sexy. Whatever the trend at the time, I’ve noticed that for many people stumbling is going with a trendy swimsuit. “Trendy” is usually very dangerous. Stick to what you like and what you feel good about.

Checklist: I’m very capricious about the dough because I really like to get into the water. “Fashion” swimwear annoys me. And I love the situation that covers the perfect butt. I need to be confident in it.

Mimi Thorisson, 48 years old

Author and cook

Go-To: Whitney Bandeau Swimsuit, About $ 285, alexandramiro.com

Endurance: There aren’t too many tanning lines because the shoulders are exposed, so I tend to opt for swimwear with spaghetti straps and even bustier swimwear. This Alexandra Milo thing is really beautiful and very flattering. This is Grace Kelly. This belt is attached, but it can also be removed. You can wear it with a skirt. When you’re on the beach, you can go to lunch just by wearing a skirt. Dual use. I have lived that way.

Checklist: I tend to be classic. It’s hard to get away from black, white and nudity, but there is turquoise.
