Washington DC — The US Department of Defense has set up a group to streamline the collection and analysis of UFO reports across the government.

The Pentagon states that the Aerial Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group (AOIMSG) will be the successor to the US Navy’s Unidentified Flight Phenomenon Task Force.

According to the department, AOIMSG synchronizes government-wide efforts to detect, identify, and attribute objects of interest in Special Purpose Airspace (SUA).

According to officials, the group will also assess and mitigate threats related to flight safety and national security.

“When an object in the air breaks into the SUA, it raises flight safety and operational security concerns and can pose national security challenges,” DOD wrote in a statement. “The Pentagon takes reports of intrusions by identified or unspecified aerial objects very seriously and investigates each one.”

The Pentagon said the decision to establish this UFO group was the result of planning efforts to address challenges related to the assessment of unidentified flying objects (UAEs) occurring near Pentagon training areas and facilities. I am.

Pentagon submitted Preliminary evaluation report At Congress in June, we focused on UAP and identified the need to improve processes, policies, technologies, and training to improve the country’s ability to understand unidentified objects.
