Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 2021-06-12 22:19:07 –

The Los Angeles Dodgers will be out of first baseman Max Muncy for at least 10 days after being on the injured list due to diagonal tension on Saturday.

Muncie played a two-run home run in the bottom of the second inning against the Texas Rangers in his home game on Friday before leaving before the second inning. Albert Pujols took over at first base.

Diagonal injuries often stand by the player for weeks, but the Dodgers say there’s a reason Muncie thinks he won’t miss that much time.

“I think we got it early. He did it in the past, but it’s not as important as it used to be,” said Dave Roberts on Saturday, hours before the deal was announced. ..

Muncie hits .264 with 14 home runs and 33 RBIs. He leads the National League on Walk (46), hovering near the top with Reds Nick Castellanos (also .418) and Jesse Winker (.412) on base percentage (.418). ..

In six seasons, including two seasons with Oakland Athletics before the Dodgers signed him as a free agent in April 2017, Muncie hit .240 with 101 home runs, 254 RBIs and .367 on-base marks.

Early in the season, the Dodgers’ 44-bat outfielder / pinch hitter Rookie Luke Raley grew up from Oklahoma City and won Muncie’s roster.

Rayleigh hit .182 with one home run and three RBIs in 23 games. He last appeared in Los Angeles on May 20th.
