Dog collar helps listen to pets | US & World News – Kansas City, Missouri

(CBS)-A high-tech dog collar gives the dog a new voice and analyzes the bark to help the owner know how the pet feels.

Petpuls’s AI-powered collar compares dog barks to a database of over 10,000 samples of 50 dogs, large and small. “With this device, humans can better, more accurately, and more effectively understand and communicate,” said Andrew Gil, Global Marketing Director at Petpuls. He adds that when a dog barks, it means that the dog has a need.

A Korean company says its algorithm can determine a dog’s five emotional states: happiness, relaxation, anxiety, anger, or sadness. The more data you bark, the more accurate your results will be.

The US company Akvelon has developed a similar technique for translating cat barks. MeowTalk is an app that helps owners better understand their cat friends.

The creators of these devices say that listening to our pets is especially relevant during a pandemic. Many people employ pets to build a company at home.

But Gil says, “Unfortunately, some of them abandon their dogs because of a misunderstanding.” Smart colors help dog owners understand their pet’s emotions and their triggers, he says.

Petpuls’s smart colors give 6-year-old Godot a new voice and convey her feelings to people. Godot owner Mun Semi says the device reveals that Border Collie gets angry when he loses the game, but feels like he’s at home alone.

Petpuls Smart Color is priced at $ 99.
