On June 15, the Douglas County Commission will also vote on Hughes’ employment and contracts.
Hughes will begin his role as Health Director in the first week of July.
Hughes is from Gering, Nebraska and received his PhD in Nursing Practice from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in 2019. For the past five years, she has been the state director of public health nursing at the Wyoming Department of Health.
