Omaha, Nebraska (KMTV)-Burn bans are in place in Douglas County due to high temperatures and possible gusts.
The ban mainly applies to open burning that requires permission, such as brush piles and leaves.
All burn permits will be suspended until the burn ban is lifted.
The Omaha Fire Department wrote on Facebook, “Be aware that cigarettes and embers can easily cause a fire in this situation.” “Open pit mining, campfires, garden waste, etc. are not allowed to be incinerated. Grilling is allowed. Be careful and common knowledge about residential fire pits.”
Burn prohibition is valid until you are notified later.
