Topeka, Kansas (AP) —Public health authorities in one of Kansas’ most populous counties have stated that schools and others are available to almost all residents due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 Delta variants. Encourages you to wear a mask in your indoor public space.

Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health Service recommends that anyone over the age of 2 wear a mask.

We updated our guidance on Tuesday, despite having the highest county vaccination rates and the lowest total number of COVID-19 cases per capita among the 105 counties in the state.

New cases of COVID-19 have increased in Kansas in recent weeks, and new cases have surged in Douglas County.
