The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety has announced the opening of two megacenters in the state to meet the needs of Oklahoma residents who require a driver’s license, REAL ID, and other identification documents.
The two megacenters were developed in collaboration with Governor Kevin Stitt’s office, Oklahoma Parliament, and the Department of Public Security to meet Oklahoma’s driver’s license and ID needs.
DPS Commissioner John Sculley said of the opening of the two megacenters:
“DPS employees are working tirelessly to reduce the backlog of citizens who need a driver’s license and ID. These megacenters operate longer than traditional business hours. , Provides convenient and efficient service to Oklahoman who needs to obtain REAL. ID, driver’s license, or ID card. “
The Oklahoma City Mega Center is scheduled to open from July 26th to December 10th this year.
The Tulsa Mega Center is scheduled to go live from August 16th to January 7th next year. The Mega Center is located at Suite 190 on 7130 S. Lewis Avenue at the Kensington Business Center.
Both locations are open Monday to Saturday from 6:30 am to 10 pm. No reservation required. Both locations operate only on a walk-in basis.
The two megacenters only offer renewal and replacement services. This includes the following updates and exchanges:
- Class D and commercial driver’s license
- REAL ID and non-REAL ID compliant ID cards
Customers may also receive a REAL ID for the first time if they already have a current Oklahoma license or a valid Oklahoma ID.
Original issues, permits, out-of-state transfers, drive tests, or other recovery will not be provided at either megacenter location.
