Plumas County (CBS13) — A man allegedly driving under the influence was arrested after a fatal accident on Highway 70 in Plumas County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, an SUV crashed from the highway just east of C-Road at around 8:30 am. According to police, 34-year-old Lacy Duval had drunk and suspended 40-year-old Christopher Carlyle grab the handle of the SUV.
The SUV seems to be speeding up when it reaches a sharp left curve. According to police, the car plunged into the shoulder and Carlyle actively turned around and tried to return to the road.
Instead, the SUV slipped out of control, crossed oncoming vehicles, and eventually flew into the air. After that, I collided with a big tree at the bottom of the embankment.
Duval died in the crash, police say. Carlyle, arrested at the scene, was taken to Renown Hospital for treatment for a moderate injury.
