According to an accident report obtained by News13, the 19-year-old driver was cited as not following traffic control equipment.
At around 1:10 pm, police were sent after being informed that two cars had collided at the intersection of 67 Avenue North and Kings Highway, according to the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
According to the report, the 19-year-old driver sent the car to the sidewalk when he passed the intersection and turned north on 67th Street, when he was hit by another car, and collided with two pedestrians.
Donald Morris, 67, and Cheryl Hart, 63, died on the scene from a collision injury. They are both from Indiana and were on vacation in the Myrtle Beach area.
Best said police had consulted with the Solicitor of the 15th Circuit and had been charged with the driver as an appropriate action to take.
