Driver in stolen vehicle leads officers on chase in Madera County – Fresno, California

Madera County, CA (KFSN)-A man in a stolen car chased a police officer on the California Highway Patrol on Thursday morning to chase Madera County.

It started around 3am on Lucky Lane and Highway 41.

CHP said police officers tried to stop the driver of the silver Nissan pickup, which had the paper covering the license plate.

According to officials, the driver stopped at first, but then rushed south on Highway 41.

Officers chased him along Road 416 to Yosemite Lakes until he reached the dead end on Old Spring Road.

The CHP said the driver jumped out of the car and ran away. The Madera County Sheriff’s Office tried to find a man using one of the K9 police officers, but he was not found.

Passengers in the truck were detained for a short time. CHP police say the person cooperated with their investigation and was released.
