Driver killed after car crashes into Fresno County vineyard, hits concrete pipe – Fresno, California

A woman was killed on Saturday night when a car crashed into a large concrete agricultural stand pipe in Fresno County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred near Belmont Avenue and North Del Norte Avenue after 10 pm.

A 40-year-old woman, Rosemary Montiel, was driving east on Belmont Avenue when she lost control of her car and turned the road.

The car’s front bumper collided with the vineyard and continued until the front door on the driver’s side hit a large concrete agricultural stand pipe.

Montiel died on the scene.

CHP officials say they are investigating the cause of the crash but do not believe that alcohol or narcotics are the cause.
