Driver killed in single-car crash that splits car into 2 pieces, Metro police say – Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas (KLAS) —According to Metro Police, a high-speed single vehicle collided in the East Valley late Friday, killing one after the vehicle was split into two parts.

Metro police report that the driver of the 2006 Chrysler 300 in Burgundy was heading south on Hollywood Boulevard when the vehicle spun and hit a large utility post on Turtle Hill Road just south of Stewart Avenue. ..

The driver was declared dead on the scene.

According to police, the crash occurred around 11:50 pm on Friday.

The driver lost control and the car slid southeast and began to rotate counterclockwise across Hollywood’s north-facing lane.

The driver’s death marks the 131st traffic-related death in the jurisdiction of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police in 2021.

The collision is under investigation.
