Driver who hit Hutchinson High School team bus in Carver County has died, patrol says

A woman was killed in Carver County when a car hit a bus on which a high school athlete was riding, officials said.

A bus-related clash at Hutchinson High School, which offers a cross-country program, occurred on Tuesday at about 7:50 pm at a highway intersection about two miles west of Norwood Young America. 212 and county road 31, state patrol said.

The dead driver was identified by patrol as Ellen E. Forestad, 21, in Glencoe, Minnesota.

Two bus passengers, 12 and 14 years old, were slightly injured. The bus driver, 78-year-old Hutchinson’s Robert E. Streich, was not injured.
