Drug trafficker faces multiple drug charges in Asheville, police say – Valley Stream, New York

Asheville, NC (WSPA) – According to the Asheville Police Department, drug traffickers were detained in western Asheville Thursday afternoon.

Officials said they had contacted the suspect Cordero Burgin on Diver View Road. Burgin tried to escape from the police but failed. He was arrested and detained on suspicion of a warrant.

He was also charged with mass trafficking suspected of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and ecstasy, police said. Burgin was charged with the following charges:

  • Trafficking in methamphetamine
  • Trafficking of opium / heroin
  • Ecstasy trafficking
  • Possession for sale or delivery of methamphetamine
  • Possession for sale or delivery of opium / heroin
  • Possession for the purpose of selling or providing ecstasy
  • Possession for the purpose of selling or delivering cocaine
  • Resist, delay, or interfere
  • Possession of drug-related equipment
  • Warrant: assault by strangulation
  • Warrant: Assault on women
  • Arrest Order: Driving with Disabilities
  • Arrest Order: Driving with Revoked License

Officers said the following were confiscated:

  • 44.65 grams of methamphetamine
  • 28.3 grams of ecstasy
  • 4.41 grams of fentanyl
  • 10.65 grams of crack cocaine

According to police, he was taken to a Buncombe County detention facility for reservations. He has a $ 185,000 secured bond.
