Los Angeles (AP) — The Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts may miss the band’s upcoming US tour to recover from unspecified medical procedures.
A musician spokesperson said Wednesday that the procedure was “fully successful,” but Watt said it would take time to recover.
“I’m working hard to be completely healthy, but today I’ve accepted expert advice that this will take some time.” Watts reportedly said in a statement.
Stones will resume its unfiltered tour in St. Louis on September 26, visiting several US cities, including Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
The rehearsal will begin in the coming weeks.
80-year-old Watts will be replaced by Steve Jordan, who has co-starred with Keith Richards for many years.
