Colorado Springs, Colorado — A woman in Colorado Springs was arrested after officials said she had caused a car accident that injured her child.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), police officers were called to areas near Highway 83 and Power Boulevard around 7:30 pm Thursday evening due to a collision between two vehicles.

When police arrived, they found a seriously injured 9-year-old victim. After being treated by the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD), the child was taken to a nearby hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

Officers later determined that the White Land Rover SUV was heading south on Highway 83 when it tried to make an unprotected left turn towards Powers Boulevard to the east. Meanwhile, Land Rover hit the blue Svalcoupe, which was heading north on Highway 83 through the intersection under the green light.

Land Rover driver Lindsay A. Harrison, 37, was arrested for drunk driving, vehicle runaway, and various transportation charges.

She was booked in El Paso County Prison with a $ 10,000 bond.Her court day is scheduled for October 22, 1:30 pm
