According to the embassy, ​​France’s exports to Bangladesh last year fell 12% compared to 2019 to € 238 million.

Ready-made garments and leather goods make up 98 percent of French imports from Bangladesh. France is one of Bangladesh’s largest export markets and, considering all its products, is the third customer in the European Union.

The bilateral deficit, which has tripled in the last decade, fell to € 2.23 billion last year, according to Bangla Media reports.

“To reduce the huge trade deficit we are facing, France is to serve Bangladesh and its people, especially in areas where our excellence is globally proven. We would like to provide you with the know-how and experience that is highly valued. Therefore, we are in areas such as power generation (including renewable energy), rail transport, water treatment, and all environmental issues. We are following the development of strong interest in the country, “said the embassy.
