Goddard, Kansas (KSNW) – With Revenge – That’s how Eisenhower’s women’s football has returned from a two-year hiatus.

“Once we get one, we start stacking them up, and we can’t miss the goal after that,” said junior Jada Wyatt about the team’s offensive power.

The Tigers scored 76 goals to lead the league this season.

“This team is very experienced and very fast,” said head coach Brandon Somer. “They are really skilled and very good at the ball. They talk, they are not afraid to make things, they are not afraid to make mistakes, and they cover each other They are just excellent teams … probably one of the best teams I have ever taught. ”

Attacks are not the only thing that works for Eisenhower. Defensively, they gave up four goals in the season and threw 12 shutouts.

“They’re really good, so I know that sometimes it gets pretty boring,” admitted junior goalkeeper Kelly Hosford. “I try not to be too busy. This is great. Sometimes I am grateful.”

Despite having an advantage on both sides of the ball, girls know better than complacency. “I’m a little scared to be confident, but I can get away with it pretty well,” said senior Hannah Schaffer. “We are confident in our work, but we take every game seriously,” says Sommer. “We know there is a lot to prove.”

Eisenhower is accustomed to carrying a target as a defending league champion. They will provide us with the best games of the year, “Sommer said.

It only serves as a motivation as the Oneros team is looking forward to doing a deep plan in the postseason.

“I think I’m going to the state this year,” Wyatt said. “We need to recover after the last match and do our best in each match to keep moving forward.”
