El Paso County, Colorado – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has launched additional traffic enforcement activities in the light of two grants from the Department of Road Safety.
These grants are managed by Colorado and offer over $ 400,000 EPSO to help with overspeeding, inattentive driving, and fighting disabled drivers. El Paso County is notorious for being the state leader in road fatalities.
These grants will fund the purchase of traffic control equipment such as the addition of photodetectors and ranging devices for the Sheriff’s Office Toolbox for speed tracking and enforcement.
Grants also help EPSO pay overtime to agents working throughout the county without deviating from the required on-duty personnel and resources.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office wants to promote community compliance through deterrence.
