Election workers begin ballot duplication process after voting machine issues – Portland, Oregon

Portland, Oregon (KOIN) — Clackamas County Secretary Shelley Hall, who is in charge of the county elections, will create a timeline on Monday to count all primaries after a printing error delays the process.

At the beginning of Monday, election workers began the process of duplicating tens of thousands of ballots kicked by voting machines. The deadline for counting all ballots is June 13, with less than half of the votes cast so far.

Hall knew that a barcode voting error had occurred a few weeks before the primary, but did not accept repeated offers of assistance from the state. She faces her reelection challenge in November.

Hall refused to talk to KOIN 6 about the ballot issue.
