Fully vaccinated individuals can receive a booster dose of one of the three COVID-19 vaccines at the corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District vaccination site.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued guidance on booster shots, stating that eligible individuals who have been vaccinated with Pfizer or Modana vaccines are eligible for booster shots more than six months after the first series.

Captain Robert Cruz holds a Moderna vial on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Firefighters administer the COVID-19 vaccine at home.

Anyone over the age of 65, over the age of 18 in a long-term care facility, over the age of 18 with an underlying illness, or over the age of 18 working or living in a high-risk environment is eligible for boosters.

Booster shots are recommended for those who are vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson and who are 18 years of age or older and who have been fully vaccinated for at least 2 months.

Qualified people can choose the vaccine they receive as a booster, even if it is not the type of vaccine they originally received.
