EMT shot in Silverlake Park has died, family says – Tucson, Arizona

Tucson, Arizona (KGUN) — In southern Arizona, his family told AMR that a 20-year-old EMT shot dead at Silverlake Park earlier this month as part of a shooting near Tucson.

Jacob Dinginger was one of the two paramedics who answered when a man answered the phone in the park on July 18. Pull up to the scene and start shooting.. Jacob was in crisis at the hospital for almost two weeks before he died early Friday morning.

In a statement last week, Jacob’s family described him as diligent and witty. They said his dream was to become a firefighter like his brother and recently became interested in attending an emergency medical school.

Earlier this month, four people, including the suspect, were killed in a shooting and a house fire. One was killed in a fire in a nearby house, another bystander was deadly shot dead, the suspect was shot dead by police, and is now shot dead by Jacob.
