Entrepreneur Resource Center opens in KCK – Kansas City, Missouri

Kansas City, Missouri 2021-09-23 06:00:16 –

Kansas City, Kansas — A new entrepreneurial resources and training center was opened in Kansas City, Kansas on Wednesday.

From training classes to financial advisors to small business loans, we provide a myriad of resources to potential business owners.

There are also 10 rental office spaces.

The group behind the center is called the National Black Mastermind Group, founded by Dr. Donetta Watson. She said her mission was to increase the number of black entrepreneurs in her community and across the country.

“We believe it is important for us to help entrepreneurs become sustainable so that they can hire people, and once they are built to hire people, they are in the community. We can continue to support overall growth, “Watson said.

The center was originally planned to open in early 2020, but when a pandemic broke out, Watson moved to offering online classes.

Muriel Donnell just graduated from one of these classes last week. She comes from a long line of cooks, so I thought it would be a good idea to open a food truck. But she needed business knowledge to get started.

“I didn’t want to be the typical story you hear,” Oh, the food was so good, why do they close so quickly? You know, they open like two years I just didn’t want to talk about it. “

After graduating from the Business Mastery course, she said she was able to apply that knowledge to the newly opened food truck, Donnell’s Kitchen Playlist.

The classes offered by the center remain virtual for now. There are classes for entrepreneurs and training classes for those who want to become coaches and mentors for other businesses.

The center also provides loan services and other resources through community partners KCK E-Community, SCORE, Cap Fed and Alt Cap.

Companies can apply to rent one of the 10 office spaces in the center.

The center is focused on serving entrepreneurs in Kansas City, Kansas, and Kansas City Metro. For people outside the region, resources are still available through the Black Mastermind Group, which operates nationwide. For more information on how to become a member click here.
