Estee Lauder Companies has appointed Dave Smith as Senior Vice President of New Business Development.

He will report to Andrew Ross, Executive Vice President of Strategy, Business Development and Integration.

Estee Lauder’s new business development was previously overseen by Shanarandaba. Shanarandaba has recently transitioned to take on the expanded role of leading a new incubation venture for Estee Lauder companies. She keeps reporting to Ross.

In a press release, the company praised Smith’s talent and experience as an expert in mergers and acquisitions (M & A) and strategic investment, and successfully facilitated all phases of the M & A process, including identifying and assessing eligible companies. Smith joined Estée Lauder from Corning Incorporated, a technology company specializing in specialty glass, ceramics and related materials, and has recently been Head of Corporate Venture Capital and Director of M & A. In this position, he led an interdisciplinary team in the execution of complex M & A transactions and the development of a wide range of strategic investment themes.

Prior to working at Corning, he was Senior Director of M & A at Ebay, focusing on M & A opportunities in user experience, machine learning, and logistics. During his career, he also spent more than a decade at several Wall Street companies in investment banking, investment management, and corporate strategy. For this, he was Managing Director of BNY Mellon, overseeing the corporate strategy of a company’s investment services portfolio. ..
