On Saturday, members of 13 construction industry unions and their families and friends gathered to donate blood and encourage others to do the same.
According to the organizers, 131 of the 160 people who applied for blood donations during the event were the first donors.
“Give back so that we can come out and help and make members want to help and give to the community. Who knows, that can happen to them and to one of their families It can happen, “said Damian Kim, IBEW Local 1186 Business Manager.
BBH states that blood donations are generally reduced during the summer and encourage everyone who is eligible to consider blood donations.
