Worcester, Massachusetts (AP) — A former elementary school music teacher charged with raping a fifth grader more than 10 years ago was convicted after a three-day trial, prosecutors said.

Stephen Jazek, 66, of South Hadley, was convicted of five separate rape charges by a judge in the Worcester Superior Court on Thursday in a jury trial exemption trial, according to a statement from the Wooster District Attorney’s Office.

The sentencing was scheduled for May 20th.

Prosecutors claim that Jaszek attacked a girl in a classroom at Auburn Elementary School in 2009 and 2010. He was arrested in August 2018.

A 23-year-old woman stood up to testify during the trial.

Jaszek denied the accusation. According to Telegram & Gazette, his lawyer, Kenneth Anderson, had no physical, medical, DNA, or witnesses at his closing, and women had credibility issues. Stated.
