Atlanta, Georgia: A significantly increased obesity in American children and teens is a direct cause of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a newly published study.

The study, conducted by the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention, followed a review of more than 432,000 children aged 2 to 19 and teens, who were obese, especially when the pandemic began. If so, researchers have found that childhood obesity has a high rate. ..

Dr. Alison Goodman of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one of the authors of the study, described the findings as “substantial and alarming.”

CDC research continues to suggest that pandemics are exacerbating the country’s fight against obesity, which also increases the number of Covid victims suffering from more serious illnesses.

The study also reported that about 22 percent of children and teens were obese.

The study elaborated on how moderately obese children gained 6.5 pounds a year before the pandemic, then 12 pounds a year, and severely obese children increased from 8.8 pounds to 14.6 pounds.
