It is very likely that you will see wild animals during your walk. Deer are often seen in the park. Coulter estimates that 30 to 50 call it home.

“When you visit, there’s a 99 percent chance that you’ll see at least a deer,” he said. “Some people are too friendly, so don’t feed if you’re hungry.”

Coulter also asks visitors to refrain from feeding squirrels.

“Probably no squirrel in the form of movement here,” he said. “Yes, everyone eats well.”

Crocodiles are also often seen in parks.

Currently, two areas are blocked for crocodile nests, including one small section of the promenade between the dog park and the boat ramp.

The nesting site will be closed until the first half of September.

“They were both closed to the public for the safety of both the public and the crocodile,” Coulter said.
