Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (WBTW) — The city of Myrtle Beach is looking for a new home for the Grand Strand Human Society due to the devastating damage to its existing facilities on Joe White Avenue.

According to the city, the pest company was able to remove the rodents from the building, but the damage was too great. It said money should be spent in new places.

The kennel behind Joe White Avenue’s building is being cleaned and can be used for short-term breeding of some shelter dogs. According to the city, the kennel should be ready by November 1.

In July, the animal shelter was told by the city of Myrtle Beach: Temporarily relocated Due to the spread of pests and the repair of buildings.

Anyone with available properties can contact Brian Tucker at btkker @ cityofmyrtlebeach.com or 843-918-1126. The city is looking for a property with parking and green space.
