Beijing (AP) — Extreme thunderstorms struck cities in eastern China, killing 11 people, injuring 102, and destroying buildings and trees in strong winds.
Nantong, located in eastern Jiangsu Province, was hit hardest on Friday night when extreme weather hit the Yangtze River Delta, according to the Global Times.
Rescue teams have evacuated 3,050 people, according to local government notices.
A wind speed of 162 kilometers (100 miles) per hour capsized the fishing boat. According to the notice, two sailors were rescued and a search for the remaining nine crew members was underway.
Electricity was restored on Nandori, and fallen trees, damaged vehicles, and blown windows were wiped out.
