Federal Aviation Administration Revoked the licenses of the two pilots After a failed aerial stunt in Arizona last month.
NBC News reported that FAA officials called the actions of pilots Luke Aikins and Andy Farrington “careless” and “reckless.”
The two cousins performed stunts during a livestreamed event by Red Bull and Hulu last month.
The pair attempted to send a Cessna 182 plane to a 14,000-foot synchronized nose before jumping out to switch aircraft in the air.
However, during the stunt, one of the planes went out of control and crashed. No one was injured.
Akins was able to board the aircraft while Farrington was forced to parachute.
The day after the stunt, Akins admitted that his request to the FAA to carry out the stunt was denied and proceeded with it anyway. According to the NBC, Akins was also fined $ 4,932.
The Central Coast served as a training ground for two pilots. Prior to the stunts, their flight practices took off from both San Luis Obispo and Oceano airports.
