Spartanburg, South Carolina (WSPA) — A new mural in downtown, Spartanburg, South Carolina gives residents a sense of hope to captivate the community.
A group of local churches, businesses, community members and artists worked together to create a mural of “Hope in the Burg” on Dunbar Street, giving the Spartan people a sense of helplessness and hope.
According to the organizers, the Hope Mural is intended to be a gift to Spartan Burg residents and visitors from the Christian religious community.
It’s more than a cool background for pretty pictures and selfies, and we hope that the murals will come alive and encourage others to give back to the community.
Jason Williams, a spokesman for Church at the Mill, said:
All the brushes, all the paint buckets, and the helpers who contributed to the mural came from the community.
Approaching Spartanberg, A group of Christian organizations in the county, artists and several civil servants cooperated in the mural painting.
“There were nearly 75 representatives from various churches and ministries. There were police officers and city council members. A lot of hands came together to make the bottom of the wall,” Williamson said.
