Raleigh, NC (WNCN) —SUV crashes at Raleigh’s Capital Boulevard over the weekend, killing five teens.

Raleigh police told CBS17 that the teen was traveling 80mph in the 35mph zone of Capital Boulevard when the car ran off the road and hit a concrete bridge near Fairview Road.

The crash occurred when the group was moving inbound down the street around 6:15 am on Sunday.

CBS 17 learned that 13 years old, another 14 years old, and two 17 years old were in the car. 13 years old is an 8th grader at Rigong Junior High School.

The family said 14-year-old Tymeer Dennis was among those killed. He was a freshman at Wake Forest High School.

Now his loved ones are trying to understand this tragedy.

“My mother asked me where he was. I looked at his phone and said it was at the police station before he died,” said Thaimail’s sister, Shakaila McGrady. rice field.

That’s how she found out that her brother had something wrong.

“It was my closest brother. I couldn’t believe it,” McGrady added.

There is only one year of age difference between the two siblings. She was looking forward to spending her teens with him.

“He makes me laugh. His smile. Everything,” McGrady added.

That smile is also lacking in Tymeer’s friends.

“He was a loving and compassionate boy,” said Dennis’ friend Zemorer Smith Taylor.

After the accident, a road driver called the 911 dispatcher for help.

“It’s really broken. I don’t know if anyone is inside. Hey, they’re probably not alive,” he told the coordinator. “It’s a silver car. It’s really, really bad smoking.”

Police said none of the five teens were wearing seat belts.

“I’m wearing a seatbelt now,” Smith-Taylor said.
