Jackson, Mississippi (AP) – Mississippi auditors say retired NFL player Brett Favre has repaid the welfare he received for a speech he didn’t appear to appear.
Auditor Shadowverse says Fabre paid $ 600,000 this week.
The former Green Bay Packers quarterback still bears interest of $ 228,000.
White said the Attorney General could sue Fabre if payments were not made by mid-November.
Favre received $ 1.1 million in May 2020 and repaid the first $ 500,000.
He said he didn’t know the money came from the welfare fund. Favre is not facing criminal accusations.
Former Mississippi Human Services Director and others have been charged with one of the state’s largest embezzlement cases.
