Federal Court lifts CDC rules for Florida-based cruise ships – Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky

Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky 2021-07-23 20:51:46 –

Miami-Pandemic restrictions on Florida-based cruise ships are no longer enforced under the latest decision by the Federal Court of Appeals, but the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention fights a Florida lawsuit against the regulation. I’m trying.

A committee of three judges from the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals temporarily blocked last Saturday’s ruling in favor of Florida authorities, but the court overturned that decision on Friday and the CDC appealed. He explained that he was unable to qualify for a pending stay.

The Court of Appeals supported Florida in a complaint earlier this month, stating that federal regulations on cruise ships departing from Florida were cumbersome and cost millions of dollars in tax revenue losses.

The temporary stay last weekend maintained CDC regulations on Florida-based cruise ships while the CDC appealed to Judge Tampa’s June decision.

The Friday move will lift restrictions while the appeal advances.
