Nashville, Tennessee (WTVF) — A federal judge has temporarily blocked Tennessee’s law prohibiting schools from imposing mask obligations.
Judge Waveley D. Clenshaw ruled on Friday, saying that “delaying the spread of COVID-19 in schools in Tennessee is also in the public’s interest.”
“As part of the federal system, Tennessee does have the privilege of enacting legislation that protects its citizens, but that right is limited by the Constitution’s supremacy clause. Land,” Clenshaw wrote. ..
So far this year, students and their families have filed proceedings to have the district of Williamson County carry out a mask mandate. Plaintiffs in this case alleged that they would otherwise violate Americans with Disabilities Act.
