Columbia, South Carolina (WBTW) —A federal judge supported South Carolina Justice Secretary Alan Wilson and blocked vaccination obligations for health care workers, according to a news release.
Judge Terry A. Dorty of the US District Court in the Western District of Louisiana blocked the mission. South Carolina is one of the 14 states fighting to stop it.
Wilson said the proceedings were about the law, not the vaccine.
“The Biden administration has once again fought in court,” Wilson said in a statement. “Because the president does not respect the rule of law, only the abuse of power.”
While blocked, the government cannot force healthcare workers to vaccinate, but employers and hospitals can still request vaccination themselves.
