Boston-based Fidelity Investments announced Wednesday that it plans to hire 375 new employees in Colorado. This is part of a major push by financial services giants to add 4,000 jobs nationwide, including 1,000 in remote areas.
“By continuing to grow Fidelity Investments’ Colorado team and expanding the company’s US footprint, we can procure diverse and innovative talent to meet the changing financial needs of our current and future customers.” Said Josh Dikin, Fidelity’s Colorado Regional Leader, in the release. “We are committed to helping our customers achieve their individual financial goals, while at the same time providing employees with the opportunity to build a rewarding career with benefits to support and strengthen their entire lives. It is working.”
Last year, Fidelity Investments added about 200 financial consultants and 300 customer service jobs, primarily in Metro Denver. The company has about 1,200 employees in the state, spokeswoman Janelle O’Haugherty said.
Financial consultants and customer service representatives are the focus of a new wave of employment that is expected to end by midsummer, she said.

Reflecting how the pandemic has changed employment patterns, Fidelity Investments has entered 20 new markets using a remote regional center model where new hires work primarily from homes near existing investor centers. We plan to expand 1,000 additional jobs nationwide.
According to Metro Denver EDC, financial services companies employ approximately 106,000 people in the northern front range, with an average annual salary of $ 118,350 for these jobs. Of that total, about 32,000 jobs include investment and cash management, with average wages much higher at $ 183,390.
Colorado ranks 16th in financial services work concentration, but 10th in investment work concentration. Financial services are considered an important “cluster” for the state economy.
Fidelity Investments manages $ 10.2 trillion in assets, has more than 35 million clients, and manages a 22,000 employee benefits program. Founded 70 years ago, the company employs more than 47,000 people.
