Phoenix, Arizona (KGUN) —While there was active activity at the Arizona Capitol on Thursday, House passed tax refund bills aimed at returning filmmaking to the state.
The bill passed significantly tonight after the Senate submitted the bill earlier that day.
It now goes to sign the governor’s desk.
The bill gives production companies tax refunds for filming movies and TV shows in Arizona.
Supported by Sierra Vista State Senator David Gowan, it requires the use of production facilities in the state.
Tax refunds will start at $ 75 million in 2023, reach $ 100 million the following year, and will be the highest at $ 125 million after 2025.
A movie can only receive $ 25 million.
