Fresno, California 2022-05-27 21:50:03 –

Fresno, Calif. (KFSN)-Investigations are underway after a blaster was installed in the toilets of Central East High School and the school was briefly closed.

Central Unified director Ketti Davis reported that the students heard a very loud pop at around 8:30.

According to Davis, the students and staff closed the classroom and acted swiftly to send a message. She said after a while that school officials learned that firecrackers were ringing in the bathroom.

“I was trembling. My legs were trembling. I was scared,” explained Jiwan Cowl about the horrifying moment when he learned that his son’s school was blocked.

Later he said he was safe, but she hurried to pick him up.

“I don’t want to leave my child on campus. I don’t know what will happen next,” she said.

Fresno police are working with the district to look at surveillance videos to track the person responsible.

Police chief Paco Valderrama said, “I scared many parents and many managers and increased my vigilance. I thought there was a shooting in high school and I had my parents shed tears directly.” ..

Valderrama said this is not the first such incident investigated by his detective since the tragedy in Texas.

The severity of the charges faced by the person in charge is not clear, but he states that the mere act of setting firecrackers on a building violates the law.

“It was done in a prank, it was done to scare the school. It scared the school, it closed it. Many unnecessary resources were spent on this incident and everyone was in danger. I wasn’t exposed. Mischief and mischief have consequences. “

The mischief occurred when students and staff were already on the alert after a deadly shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.

The district said it is available to students in need of service from mental health professionals and counselors.

Central East High wasn’t the only school to deal with the blockade on Friday.

The Hanford Elementary School District conducted a soft rockdown after the students reported the statement to the Hanford Police Department.

They said they could determine that there was no positive threat, and the comments came from Koalinga’s teens.

Law enforcement agencies throughout the valley remind parents to talk to their children about the consequences of these actions.
