Tokyo — Two athletes staying in the Olympic Village in Tokyo tested positive for Covid-19. Game organizer Said.

Infectious disease is the first confirmed case among village athletes. Organizers said on Sunday that the players had been transferred to a 14-day quarantine.

Another athlete who wasn’t in the village also tested positive, the organizers said.

According to data from the organizers, a total of 55 people involved in the Olympic Games, including those involved in the Summer Olympic Games and contractors, have been positive since July 1.

Overseas athletes who will participate in the Tokyo Olympics, which will start on Friday, will take a test in Japan. Athletes are also tested daily during their stay.

On Saturday, the organizers said that a person who was not an athlete but was staying in the Olympic Village tested positive. Some coaches and officials are staying in the village.
