The flag of the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) will be lowered on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 to commemorate UNO’s retired Joe Hubner.
Joe died on October 19, 2021 at the age of 72. He worked for UNO for 42 years before retiring in 2016. When he retired, Joe was Deputy Prime Minister of Finance.
Joe, who is also a graduate, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from UNO in 1971.
Joe is survived by his wife Glenda Huber and his children Chad Hiebner and Kali Hamlick. He has also survived by his grandchildren, Cary, Gavin, Corbyn, and Grant.
A life celebration was held for Joe on Friday, October 22nd.
The thoughts and condolences of the college community lie in Joe’s loved ones during this period.
