The UNO flag will be lowered on Monday, May 9th to commemorate Phouvong Mychackavane, a retired UNO who died on April 14th, 2022 at the age of 74.

The flag of the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) will be lowered on Monday, May 9th to commemorate UNO’s retired Phouvong “Phou” Mychackavane.

Po died on April 14, 2022 at the age of 64. He started working at UNO in August 1983 and continued until his retirement in October 2015. While at UNO, Po worked as a member of the management service.

Fu was prior to his death by his parents and siblings. He is survived by his 42-year-old wife, Meuang Mychackavane. Children Khaimouk (Alejandro) Zamora, Win (Jennifer) Mychackavane, and Johnny Mychackavane; grandchildren Cassandra, Christian, Giovianni, Donavan, Daniel, Carmyne, Vanessa, Antonyo, Gya. And my niece, nephew, and other family members.

A service was held for Phou on April 23, 2022.

The thoughts and condolences of the university community lie in Phou’s loved ones during this period.
